Jan MC Asselbergs (1937-2015), is best known for his portraits of Beatrix, Willem-Alexander and former Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers. He also painted many nudes, professors, rector magnifici and large industrialists.
Asselbergs was awarded the Royal Award, had his own satirical TV show. In 1969 he released 'Van jou en Mei'; the first Dutch-language LP. H taught drawing at the St. Paulus lyceum in Tilburg for 13 years. He was a guest teacher for 25 years at the Tilburg Art Circle. More on Jan MC Asselbergs
